Users’ ethical perceptions of social media research: Conceptualisation and measurement

The study examines users’ ethical perceptions of social media research focusing on the conceptualisation and development a measure. We follow an established procedure using mixed-method approach to develop validate measure involving two studies. Five dimensions are identified in one, anonymity ownership, exploitation, permission, vulnerable groups, control. dimensionality is validated two, while construct validity tested. Overall, findings both studies indicate that developed possesses good psychometric properties; thus, fully capturing offering significant theoretical practical contributions. This line has implications for varied stakeholders, including analysts organisations engaging practices.
